Along with a lot of people, I’ve been using ChatGPT as a resource and research assistant as I write these essays, prepare to teach classes in a couple of lifelong-learning programs, and conduct genealogy research.
I guess you can tell that I am catching up on a week's worth (maybe more?) of posts ... This is fascinating. "It" sounds so reasonable. Am glad you were able to teach "it" where Yorktown is, and that you are not THAT kidnapper. I shan't make any further assumptions on that subject. I guess AI is something about which I should at least learn the basics. So far, tho, I have not needed it to paint or garden, so perhaps I shall stay ignorant a bit longer.
Kinda weird having a rather intelligent conversation with a - what - non thing, eh? A year ago, with Bob handling the conversation, we had a very interesting conversation with CGPT ABOUT Rex’s breathlessness and suggestions for relief. Quite expansive, inquisitive, empathetic, supportive and sensible. 😳
You don't refer to ChatGPT as Hal, do you? All this new-fangled stuff is, like all new-fangled stuff, interesting and creepy simultaneously. I've only used it a few times and was shocked how well and quickly it responded to my requests.
It is also a people-pleaser. It regularly compliments me on my great questions and insights. I have read that some people use it as a substitute for therapy -- they tell it (him? her?) their problems and receive responses that make them feel good about themselves. Not bad for the price -- which is zero.

Fascinating!

At least you aren't a felon 😂
As far as you know . . .
